DropJPG was created for one specific purpose: to convert any images to JPEG format. Its functionality is quite simple and very easy to understand, even for novice users. Although it doesn't offer more than some users would want, there is no doubt that DropJPG is an excellent solution if you need to convert images to JPEG on the fly, without thinking about the process too much. Furthermore, the application is offered completely free of charge and you can have it up and running in a matter of seconds.

Apart from a compact settings panel, the application doesn't come with a main user interface with conversion options. All you have to do is drag and drop one or more pictures over DropJPG's icon. In a few moments, the converted images will appear in the same folder, next to the originals. An efficient way of working with DropJPG is to place its icon on the icons dock. In this way, you will be able to convert your images anytime, at a moment's notice.

The application's behavior can be tweaked a bit, on the aforementioned settings panel. Besides setting a higher or lower output quality, you can also set DropJPG to perform various actions after converting your images, like deleting the originals, opening the output folder or to quit. It is also possible to set the application to ask for an output folder, when you drop your pictures over its icon.

Pros

DropJPG is straightforward and easy to use. It is capable of converting multiple images in one run. It allows you to choose an output quality and make other fine tweaks.

Cons

The application doesn't support any other output formats besides JPEG. With DropJPG, a simple gesture with the mouse is all it takes to convert countless photos to JPEG.
